Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build and maintain ML pipelines for anomaly detection and root-cause analysis on large manufacturing data. You will work with PySpark to process time-series data, prepare training datasets, and manage the full deployment lifecycle.

The team operates in a sprint-driven environment where you can design approaches, test new tools, and iterate quickly with hands-on support from the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining ML systems.
• Strong proficiency in PySpark and distributed data processing.
• Hands-on experience with Python ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or XGBoost).
• Practical knowledge of MLOps practices and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build PySpark workflows that ingest, clean, and transform high-volume manufacturing data.
• Optimize Spark jobs with partition strategies, memory management, and reduced shuffle operations.
• Design end-to-end ML pipelines for feature calculation, training, validation, and deployment.
• Implement and tune ML models for anomaly detection and root cause analysis.
• Manage production model lifecycle: versions, artifacts, retraining, and rollback procedures.
• Monitor pipeline execution times, data quality, and model metrics with alerting rules.
