Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build and deploy ML systems that improve semiconductor manufacturing. You will own the full model lifecycle from data prep to deployment, focusing on anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and virtual metrology.

You will work with high-frequency time-series data and collaborate with process engineers in an Agile setting. Required 5+ years of ML experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and ability to deploy robust models in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• 5+ years of professional experience designing, training, and deploying ML models.
• Strong regression, classification, ensemble methods, feature engineering, and evaluation metrics.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling, plus SQL for large dataset access.
• Experience with ML pipelines, experiment tracking, versioning, and retraining in production.

Responsibilities

• Build supervised ML models for anomaly detection using high-frequency tabular/time-series data.
• Enhance data collection and processing workflows to create robust test datasets.
• Design, train, and iterate predictive models integrating process and quality data.
• Engineer features from continuous time-series streams and handle missing data.
• Manage full modeling workflow: cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, versioning, retraining.
• Set statistical benchmarks and monitor models in production.
• Communicate findings clearly to data scientists and process engineers.
