About the role

As a Senior Data Scientist on the Strategic Finance team at Rippling, you will play a vital role in applying data science techniques to analyze and forecast Rippling’s business across many product suites. You will work closely with stakeholders across Go-to-Market, Customer Experience, and R&D finance teams to uncover data-driven insights. You will also build forecasting models that directly impact company-wide financial targets and planning. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong analytical skills and business acumen.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy forecasting models to predict customer retention and expansion using internal and external signals
• Define and deeply understand critical business metrics such as net dollar retention and customer acquisition cost
• Conduct thorough analyses at every stage of the customer journey — from initial lead through onboarding to contract renewal — to identify growth opportunities
• Build high-quality data infrastructure to support accurate analyses of business performance across sales, marketing, and customer experience
• Serve as a trusted strategic partner to Rippling’s Finance executives, offering data-driven insights to support our continued strong ARR growth

What you will need

• 5+ years of experience in data science and analytics: Proven ability to use data science methods to drive business impact, particularly in B2B SaaS or fintech industries
• Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
• Proficiency in data analysis tools: Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and other data analysis tools. You should be comfortable performing statistical analysis, running queries, and building models
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: You will be expected to turn complex data into actionable insights that influence strategic business decisions
• Strong communication skills: You should excel in communicating technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to operate autonomously in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment

The pay range for this role is:
