US Foods is seeking a Sr Data Scientist to advance AI/ML initiatives in a fully remote role located in the United States (excluding Hawaii and US territories). You will lead model development from data exploration to deployment, mentor junior scientists, and partner with product teams to deliver data-driven business insights.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, production-grade coding, and documentation, with a compensation range highlighted and a focus on scalable ML solutions

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, CS, statistics or related field with 3+ years of experience OR a Bachelor’s with 6+ years in data science.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Expert understanding of machine learning techniques, model evaluation, cross-validation, and deployment considerations.

Responsibilities

• Research data sources, perform cleansing, feature engineering, and create baseline models.
• Independently manage multiple data science projects from conception to deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product management to align data science solutions with business needs.
• Own the end-to-end model development lifecycle, including documentation, drift monitoring, and retraining strategy.
• Mentor Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists in best practices and problem-solving.
