Job summary

GovCIO is a data science team focused on supporting the VA data modernization initiative. The role is fully remote within the United States, emphasizing building data products, migrating workloads to the cloud, and accelerating AI adoption for measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and experience with Python, SQL, and major cloud platforms, plus hands-on ML experience and knowledge of LLMs and ML tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline.
• Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL for data analysis.
• 2+ years’ experience on leading cloud platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Experience in end-to-end data science workflow and ML tooling.
• Strong understanding of traditional ML toolboxes and LLMs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal clients and build data products/workflows to support critical operations.
• Migrate and modernize workloads to the cloud to realize improvements.
• Spearhead AI adoption with clients to drive business outcomes.
• Create reference use cases with tutorials, code, and training to drive cloud tooling adoption.
• Host office hours to upskill clients.
• Develop, train, and deploy machine learning to solve complex business problems.
