Job summary

Stenon GmbH is seeking a versatile Senior Data Scientist to expand our soil nutrient machine learning and data-driven features, enabling farmers to make better agronomic decisions using real-time soil data.

You will lead DS projects, scale models globally and shape the DS strategy in collaboration with data engineers, scientists and product teams. A strong foundation in ML, Python, and DS lifecycle is required, with experience in MLflow and DVC. Hybrid/remote work across Germany is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science products.
• A advanced degree in engineering or science.
• Strong understanding of statistical and fundamental ML concepts.
• Experience writing and maintaining Python code with scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc., and ML-Ops tools like MLflow and DVC.
• High degree of autonomy.
• Ability to translate complex ML concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Experience across the ML product lifecycle: metrics, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.
• Strong data and code quality mindset.
• Experience with high-dimensional sensor/signal data.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects in fast-paced settings.
• Experience mentoring team members.
• Excellent English communication (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for a core pillar of Stenon's products.
• Scale soil nutrient modelling across regions.
• Oversee planning, execution and delivery of Data Science projects.
• Contribute to DS strategy, roadmap and new data sources.
• Work with diverse data sources from sensors to lab results.
