Kearney Activate is seeking a Senior Data Scientist / Product Engineer in Washington, D.C. to own end-to-end data science projects, from framing business questions to modeling, deployment, and monitoring. You will mentor junior teammates and collaborate with client stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

The role blends business, product, and technology, with emphasis on ML, prompt engineering, RAG, and GenAI tools across secure data environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/DS/Math; advanced degree a plus.
• End-to-end data science ownership with production deployment experience.
• Ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical approach and choose right techniques.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand data quality and structure.
• Design, build, and evaluate ML and analytical solutions including LLM-based approaches.
• Construct retrieval-augmented generation pipelines when appropriate.
• Deploy models via APIs or batch pipelines; write tests; monitor performance.
• Collaborate with data architecture on pipelines and data quality.
• Apply MLOps and CI/CD to models and analytical code.
• Document assumptions and communicate results to technical and business audiences.
• Lead solution definition with client stakeholders and mentor junior staff.
• Use modern AI and GenAI tools in daily workflow.
