Kearney Activate in Washington DC is seeking a Senior Data Scientist and Product Engineer to translate business questions into scalable data solutions. You will own end-to-end analytics projects—from framing and exploration to modeling, deployment, and monitoring—in collaboration with client stakeholders and the data architecture team.

The role blends business, product, and technology, requiring strong communication, mentoring of junior engineers, and hands-on work with Python, SQL, ML

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• Ability to obtain or currently possess a U.S. Secret security clearance; active or prior clearance a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business questions into an analytical approach and select the right technique.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand data quality and opportunity.
• Design, build, and evaluate analytical and ML solutions, including traditional ML and LLM-based approaches.
• Deploy models through APIs or batch pipelines with basic monitoring for drift.
• Collaborate with data architecture on pipelines, data quality, and schema decisions.
• Apply MLOps fundamentals and CI/CD to models and analytical code.
• Document assumptions and communicate results to technical and business audiences.
• Lead solution definition with client stakeholders and mentor junior staff.
• Utilize modern AI and GenAI tools in daily workflows.
