Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to design and implement predictive modeling solutions that optimize member experiences. You will lead end-to-end projects, process large data streams in distributed environments, and collaborate with business partners to identify target segments and actionable patterns.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and 5+ years in predictive analytics, with proficiency in SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, Python, and R,

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in predictive analytics or equivalent background.
• Expert knowledge of SAS and SAS Enterprise Miner; Python and R highly preferred.
• Experience leading end-to-end data science project implementations; healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and leads predictive modeling projects for complex business problems with business partner input.
• Pipes and processes large data streams in Hadoop-like distributed environments.
• Recommends batch and real-time model scoring to drive actions.
• Develops proprietary algorithms for customized solutions beyond standard tools.
• Creates advanced visualizations of analysis output for business users.
• Publishes results and discusses constraints with business partners.
• Provides actionable insights to meet established targets.
• Identifies continuous improvement opportunities in predictive modeling algorithms.
• Collaborates with partners to identify population segments and develop actionable patterns.
• Mentors other data scientists.
