Job summary

Capital One in McLean, VA is seeking a Senior Associate Data Scientist focused on recommendation and personalization systems, building high-scale models for customer experiences across web and mobile.

You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to translate complex analytics into business value, using Python, AWS, Spark, and a modern ML stack to deploy models in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years of data analytics experience.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration
• STEM Master’s or STEM PhD holders

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-focused products
• Use a broad technology stack to extract insights from large-scale numeric and textual data, including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, and Spark
• Develop machine learning models across the full lifecycle: design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Translate model and technical complexity into concrete business goals using strong interpersonal communication
