insitro is seeking a computational biologist to advance target prioritization and drug development through multimodal data analysis. You will work with a cross-functional team of life scientists, data scientists, bioengineers, software engineers, and ML scientists in a hybrid, in-person role based in South San Francisco.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, systems biology, bioengineering, CS, ML or related field with 3+ years post-grad experience.
• Hands-on with diverse data modalities including scRNA-seq, imaging, spatial omics or transcriptomics.
• Strong statistical modeling and rigorous data interpretation abilities.
• Biology background in disease areas such as neuroscience, cardio, or metabolic disorders.
• Proficient in Python scientific stack (NumPy, pandas).
• Publication record in relevant venues.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize multimodal insights from microscopy, spatial proteomics, and sequencing to propose therapeutic hypotheses.
• Identify potential therapeutic targets from disease models and perturbation screens.
• Discover biomarkers for disease monitoring and progression.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to design and optimize mechanistic studies.
• Benchmark tools, calibrate workflows, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
