Job summary

insitro seeks a computational biologist to advance multimodal analyses that link cellular phenotypes to disease biology. You will identify therapeutic targets from diverse data and guide experimental design with rigorous statistics.

You will work in a cross-functional team across life science, data science, bioengineering, and software, contributing to the company’s mission of delivering impactful medicines. Hybrid in-person schedule in South San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in computational biology, systems biology, bioengineering, computer science, ML or related field.
• 3+ years of experience post-graduation in research.
• Hands-on with at least one data modality (scRNA-seq, imaging, spatial proteomics, transcriptomics).
• Strong statistics and data analysis background; publication record preferred.
• Proficient with Python scientific packages (NumPy, pandas).

Responsibilities

• Multimodal analysis to uncover disease mechanisms and therapeutic hypotheses.
• Identify therapeutic targets from disease-relevant data and perturbation screens.
• Collaborate with biologists to design experiments and interpret results.
• Benchmark tools, define metrics, and communicate findings across teams.
