Job summary

Nuuly is seeking a Senior Data Scientist within the URBN Data Science organization to lead ML initiatives across the Nuuly brand, collaborating with engineering, analytics, and product teams.

You will drive end-to-end project execution, deploy models to production, and mentor junior data scientists while shaping the ML roadmap. This role emphasizes customer and operational impact, including personalization, pricing, forecasting, and warehouse optimization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a data science or applied ML role, preferably with consumer-facing or e-commerce applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong statistical and analytical skills (e.g., hypothesis testing, distributional analysis)
• Experience with a wide range of ML techniques (tree-based models, clustering, neural networks, time series forecasting) and model evaluation
• Hands-on experience deploying ML models to production (containerization, monitoring, A/B testing)
• Strong familiarity with ML tools and libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jupyter Notebooks)
• Experience working with large-scale distributed data systems and real-time data pipelines (Kafka)
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Model Development & Deployment: Design, prototype, and operationalize ML models to support customer experience, inventory, pricing, and logistics.
• Business-Driven Analytics: Identify opportunities to drive value using ML and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations.
• Project Ownership: Lead multiple concurrent projects from scoping to monitoring.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical mentorship and ensure scalable, measurable ML solutions.
