Job summary

Bloomingdale's in New York City is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to design, develop, and implement advanced models for priority business use cases across the enterprise, including online experience, marketing, merchandising, supply chain, finance, and store operations.

You will work with big data (text, images, audio) to build AI-enabled smart services, lead feature engineering, deep learning, analytics, and collaborate with data engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists to deploy real-time

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; Ph.D. preferred in engineering, business, finance, data science, computer science, or related fields.
• SQL and Python experience.
• Blend of applied math, data science and engineering skills, solving critical business problems through data science.
• Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically to identify data issues and remediate.
• Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
• Experience with web reporting tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
• Ability to conduct qualitative market research and tell a story through visualization.
• Experience with cleaning, transforming, analytics and reporting from large data sets.
• Cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS) and big data processing technologies (Redshift, BigQuery) is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams – Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, architects, and partners.
• Demonstrated leadership and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and work with information and workplace materials.

Responsibilities

• Thought leader in data science and analytics to define business problems and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements, KPIs and acceptance criteria.
• Lead research into state-of-the-art methodologies to enhance models and future personalized models.
• Build real-time and batch ML pipelines with data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, validation and evaluation (A/B).
• Promote efficacy through monitoring, coaching and motivating teammates.
