Job summary

Elder Research, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join the Defense and Intelligence Business unit at Fort Meade, MD. You will develop machine learning, statistical, and AI solutions for complex datasets addressing client challenges and translate insights into actionable guidance.

Ideal candidates hold TS/SCI with Poly, strong Python and R skills, and experience with large data sets. You will lead data science teams and collaborate with clients and technical staff to enhance decision-making.

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with Python and R.
• Experience using large data sets to solve problems.
• Knowledge of ML, data wrangling, advanced statistical analysis.
• AWS or Cloud experience.
• Ability to communicate complex models in non-technical language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ML, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms.
• Prototype and evaluate multiple algorithms using rigorous metrics.
• Design experiments or models when training data is unavailable.
• Generate reports and visualizations for actionable client insights.
• Translate complex data analysis into actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with SMEs to automate data analyses and produce production-ready analytics.
• Assess clients' readiness to integrate analytics into operations.
• Stay current with emerging tools in ML and data analytics.
• Lead a team of data scientists across analytic efforts.
• Work with clients, managers, and staff to deliver data-driven solutions.
