Job summary

Kalman & Company is seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to support Department of Warfare initiatives. You will analyze complex data, build predictive models, and present findings to government clients, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and managers to drive data-driven decisions.

The role requires a deep understanding of DoW systems, strong communication, and hands-on experience with BI tools and Python/R for analytics.

Qualifications

• Active secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physical Science, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years as a data scientist with 5+ years supporting DoW solutions.
• Excellent data gathering and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision.
• Experience in statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions in a highly collaborative and agile environment.
• Lead research and development initiatives in ML and AI for DoW data products.
• Build metadata/rules-driven analytics using open source and cloud components.
• Lead data collection, normalization, and analysis across multiple sources.
• Create dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Document data profiling, quality, dictionaries, and analyses.
• Develop predictive models and trend analyses from diverse datasets.
• Present results to customers and leadership with clear briefing materials.
