Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Data Scientist Manager to lead Client Analytics, owning complex AI/ML problems end to end from design to production deployment. You will influence client and advisor strategy and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

The role requires a Master’s in a quantitative field, 3–5 years of experience, and strong Python/SQL skills with experience on AWS or Snowflake. Hybrid in-office collaboration is expected, with frequent cross-functional partnership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in quantitative discipline (Data Science, Statistics, CS, Mathematics, Economics or related).
• 3–5 years of relevant experience delivering advanced analytics, ML, or applied AI solutions.
• Strong foundation in statistics, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
• Proven experience with modern data science tools, data visualization tools, and programming languages (Python, SQL, ML frameworks).
• Experience working in cloud-based platforms, preferably AWS or Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI and ML solutions for client and advisor analytics using statistics, forecasting, predictive modeling, ML, and GenAI.
• Translate business needs into analytical approaches with stakeholders; define success measures and communicate actionable insights.
• Support data science lifecycle from framing, exploration, feature engineering to model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and improvement.
• Lead analytics strategy and enhancement of the field-facing recommendation engine with product and tech teams.
• Ensure governance standards for data, models, and AI; document processes and monitor performance.
• Mentor peers, share knowledge, and stay current on AI/ML techniques.
