Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Data Scientist Manager to lead AI/ML initiatives supporting client analytics, advising teams, and deploying AI at scale in a collaborative, in-office setting in Minneapolis. You will own problem framing, model development, deployment, and governance, mentor teammates, and help advance best practices in GenAI and traditional analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 3-5 years of relevant analytics/AI experience.
• Strong foundation in statistics, predictive modeling, and ML.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions for client and advisor analytics.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into analytical approaches by partnering with stakeholders to frame problems, define success measures, and communicate actionable insights.
• Support the full lifecycle of data science and AI solutions from problem framing, data exploration, and feature engineering through model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Lead the analytics strategy and ongoing enhancement of the field-facing recommendation engine, partnering with product and technology teams to develop, maintain, monitor, and improve recommendations.
• Ensure solutions meet data, model, and AI governance standards by applying policies, validation expectations, documentation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
