Waystar in the United States seeks an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and deployment of advanced ML models and analytics that drive product and client decisions. You will mentor junior data scientists, collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders, and build robust data pipelines with data engineers.

You will stay ahead of AI trends to elevate Waystar’s data science initiatives and empower data-driven decision-making across the company.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in CS, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in data science with a track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or R for data manipulation, statistics, and ML model development.
• Experience with various ML techniques and their practical applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated ML models and predictive analytics solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
• Conduct in-depth data exploration, analysis, and visualization to identify trends and insights.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure with data engineers.
• Stay abreast of AI advancements and evaluate new technologies and methodologies.
• Contribute to strategic direction of Waystar’s data science initiatives.
• Champion data-driven decision-making across the company.
• Evaluate and select appropriate statistical methods and ML algorithms.
