Job summary

Waystar is seeking a Data Scientist with healthcare analytics experience to build ML and predictive models. You will work with Account Management, Application Engineering, and R&D to maximize modeling utility across the product line.

The role requires deep statistical expertise, strong coding skills, and the ability to communicate results to business leaders. A Master’s degree is preferred, with a focus on medical informatics advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience applying ML to healthcare problems.
• Translate business problems to mathematical frameworks.
• Strong communication with business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in ML with R/Python.
• Experience with SQL Server or similar RDBMS.
• MS degree or higher in CS/Stats/Math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, experiment with, and deploy ML/analytic systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, PM, and Ops to surface features.
• Translate healthcare problems to mathematical frameworks.
• Provide quantitative results to guide feature planning.
• Advance ML across Waystar product lines.
