Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional is seeking a Senior Data Scientist II (Yoda Team) to advance data extraction, structuring, and analysis using NLP and ML on large-scale corpora including legal, financial, and business data.

You will research, train, and deploy models, collaborate with product leaders, engineers, and stakeholders, and mentor junior team members in a small, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of ML techniques including classification, clustering, regression, and statistical modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Python ML libraries and data-science tooling (scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy).
• Experience with NLP tools and methods (OpenNLP, Stanford NLP, LDA, Gensim, spaCy).
• Proficiency training large-scale models with frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or MXNet.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging problems in NLP, ML, and information retrieval, including topical classification and entity extraction.
• Research, build, train, evaluate, and deploy ML models using traditional and deep learning techniques.
• Develop scalable NLP models over large-scale corpora (news, financial, legal, business).
• Design and improve scalable NLP/ML pipelines and evaluate state-of-the-art tools.
