LexisNexis Legal & Professional is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead AI and ML model development, define projects, and guide junior teammates. You will work closely with data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions.

This role focuses on applying data science to enhance end-user products and data sources. You will collaborate with product leaders to align AI initiatives with business goals, evaluate new frameworks, and mentor teammates while guiding

Qualifications

• Masters plus 7-10 years of work-related experience or PhD with 6+ years of work-related experience.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience working with large language models and transformer-based architectures (e.g., BERT, RoBERTa, T5).
• Proficiency with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, AWS).
• Experience applying LLMs (ChatGPT, GPT-3.5, Claude, Mistral).
• Strong problem-solving, leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficient programming in Python, R or similar for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions in collaboration with data scientists and engineers.
• Lead the development of advanced AI and ML models to address complex business problems.
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns informing AI development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI with business goals and customer needs.
• Evaluate and establish new frameworks, methodologies and governance for AI projects.
• Mentor junior data scientists and provide guidance on best practices.
• Work with product leaders to apply data science solutions to product strategy.
• Lead small- to medium-sized teams (direct or indirect).
