Job summary

Airbnb, a leader in global hospitality, is seeking a data scientist to join its Guest & Host Data Science group. You will build models, measurement frameworks, and data products that improve the Airbnb marketplace and guest experiences.

You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams, write Python/SQL/R, and apply causal inference to measure impact and guide pricing and marketplace decisions. This remote-eligible role offers opportunities to influence guests and hosts worldwide.

Qualifications

• BS/masters degree required; 5+ years experience.
• PhD with 2+ years experience is welcome.
• Experience with experimentation and causal analysis.
• Strong ML knowledge and data-driven mindset.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with cross-functional partners (Product, Design, Engineering, Analytics).
• Contribute to development and launch of data-driven products and models; leverage AI tools.
• Write Python, SQL or R to model, simulate, and measure feature impact; apply causal inference when needed.
• Analyze structured/unstructured data to derive insights and craft actionable proposals.
• Communicate learnings to leaders to drive data-driven decisions.
