Job summary

FairSquare is a lean, AI-leveraged data science team building predictive models for customer acquisition in FinTech lending. Senior/Lead level role with exposure to production deployments and decisioning. Hybrid schedule with two onsite days per week in Atlanta and other offices.

You'll own modeling projects end-to-end, collaborating with marketing, credit risk, and engineering to translate business questions into measurable outcomes. Strong Python/R, SQL, and mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, CS, engineering, OR equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of relevant data science or machine learning experience.
• Strong programming in Python or R; proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised ML, validation, feature engineering.
• Experience deploying and monitoring predictive models in production.
• Strong coding practices: version control, reproducible analysis, testing.
• Experience leading end-to-end data science projects and mentoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Partner with marketing, credit risk, sales, product, and engineering to translate business problems into analytical questions.
• Own projects end-to-end: data discovery, preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, validation, deployment, monitoring.
• Work with structured and unstructured data from disparate sources; surface data gaps.
• Build and evaluate supervised and unsupervised models with sound methods and benchmarks.
• Design experiments to distinguish correlation from causation and translate lift into business impact.
• Collaborate with engineering to move models into reliable production workflows and recalibrate as needed.
• Communicate recommendations and uncertainties clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use AI tools to accelerate analysis while verifying logic and data sources.
• Mentor data scientists and contribute to analytics platform evolution.
