Job summary

General Motors is seeking an expert Staff Data Scientist to transform complex data into actionable insights affecting product, operations, and customer experience. You will lead design and deployment of advanced analytics and AI solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams across GM.

The role emphasizes leadership, architectural oversight, and hands-on modeling with foundation models, RAG, and mobility domain analytics. Hybrid work schedule in Warren MI or Austin TX with 3 days on-site.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive data science experience.
• Proficient in Python and vector databases; experience with LLMs and generative AI.
• Experience with RAG, agentic designs, and multi-agent systems.
• Familiar with Kiro, Agent Strands, Bedrock AgentCore, Bedrock Knowledge Base.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of data science solutions addressing business challenges.
• Define architecture, design patterns and ensure engineering best practices.
• Build and deploy Generative AI/machine learning models for multiple domains.
• Create data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and drive cross-team collaboration.
