Job summary

Allianz US Life seeks an experienced data scientist to lead advanced ML and generative AI initiatives. You will guide architecture, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex insights into strategic actions.

You will cleanly craft data pipelines, perform exploration, and deploy models in production while advancing the COE's standards and practices. A strong documentation and governance mindset is required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience required, 3 years with a graduate degree.
• Proficiency in writing clean and reproducible Python code; Streamlit preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL including subqueries/CTEs and complex joins.
• Experience developing and deploying ML models in production.
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms and statistics with measurement frameworks.
• Experience leading data-driven projects and presenting to stakeholders.
• Experience with version control using Git/GitHub.
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI solutions.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Drive creation of advanced ML and generative AI solutions to solve business challenges.
• Serve as technical lead on data science projects, shaping architecture and direction.
• Query and wrangle data for analysis and modeling; perform EDA and feature engineering.
• Lead meetings with business stakeholders to understand needs and iterate on solutions.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead collaboration with data scientists and COE team for high-quality code and reviews.
• Provide thought leadership by exploring new methodologies and improving practices.
• Utilize AI tools and resources (e.g., generative AI) in projects.
