Job summary

Strella is hiring a data scientist to advance our modeling and prediction engine for predicting shelf life in the fruit supply chain. You will work with data scientists, engineers, and product partners to deliver actionable insights and scalable solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong ML and experimentation skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced startup. In-person work available at Seattle or Wenatchee offices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience; startup experience preferred.
• Proficiency in machine learning and experimentation; computer vision a plus.
• End-to-end data experience: querying, aggregation, analysis, visualization.
• Strong oral and written communication; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Frame problems mathematically with stakeholders.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand problems.
• Construct and fit statistical, ML, or vision models.
• Implement analytics techniques to identify factors affecting shelf life.
• Develop predictive models to forecast shelf life for fruits.
• Collaborate with developers to productionize algorithms.
• Analyze data and communicate findings to guide launches.
