Job summary

Peraton seeks an experienced Data Scientist/SME to support a classified government contract. The role focuses on applying data science, AI, and ML to complex government datasets and enterprise data assets.

You will collaborate with government stakeholders and technical teams to develop end-to-end solutions and drive data-driven mission outcomes. Required qualifications include a TS or Q clearance, 12+ years in data science, and strong Python/R skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, AI, or related field.
• 12+ years in Data Science, analytics, ML, or related; 10+ years with MS/MA; 7+ years with PhD.
• Active TS or Q clearance or higher is required. Ability to obtain Q/SCI.
• Experience analyzing complex datasets to produce actionable insights.
• Experience developing Data Science or ML models.
• Strong programming experience in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership as Data Science SME across customer organizations.
• Analyze large-scale datasets to support mission and enterprise decisions.
• Identify opportunities to apply Data Science, analytics, AI, and ML to customer challenges.
• Assess data assets for analytics suitability and AI applications.
• Translate requirements into analytical solutions and implementation strategies.
• Develop statistical and ML models and methodologies.
• Design prototypes and POCs to demonstrate value of Data Science/AI capabilities.
• Support transition of prototypes into production environments.
• Integrate AI/DS solutions with existing data assets, pipelines, and environments.
• Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and AI/ML engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
