Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Data Scientist to expand the Data Science & Analytics organization’s impact by turning telemetry and game-server data into actionable insights. You will design experiments, apply causal inference, and build scalable pipelines to optimize player and developer experiences across RCC fleets and edge compute.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years as a Data Scientist with high-volume telemetry.
• Experience turning telemetry into scalable pipelines and dashboards.
• Expertise in memory management, OS interactions, or network stack is a plus.
• Experience with game engines or real-time interactive systems.

Responsibilities

• Define Metrics — Own Engine Infra metrics, telemetry logging, and validation for the RCC fleet and edge compute.
• Transform & Visualize Data for Actionable Insights — Access and process raw RCC and engine telemetry, build analytics pipelines, and deliver clear operating views of the fleet.
• Design Experiments & Apply Causal Inference — Lead channel tests, hardware A/Bs, and causal analyses for multiplexing, ARM64 bursting, regional capacity, and edge latency.
• Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with Engine Infra, Game Engine, Networking, Matchmaking, Infrastructure, Product, and TPMs.
• Shape the Future of Roblox’s Foundation — Influence how Roblox runs live experiences on owned edge and cloud hardware.
