Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Data Scientist for Engine Infra to own metrics, telemetry, and analytics that impact game-server efficiency and player experience. You will build dashboards, run experiments, and apply causal inference to optimize multiplexing and edge latency.

You will partner with multiple teams to debug production issues and shape the platform as Roblox scales toward larger, denser servers, while communicating results with data storytelling.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS, statistics, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years as a Data Scientist with telemetry experience.
• Experience processing massive, noisy datasets and building scalable pipelines.
• Use first-principles reasoning to debug complex system failures.
• Ability to present deep technical results to engineering leaders with data storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Define Engine Infra metrics, telemetry logging, and validation with KPIs.
• Transform and visualize raw telemetry into dashboards and views.
• Design experiments and apply causal inference to capability trade-offs.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams.
• Shape Roblox’s foundation by improving edge and cloud infrastructure.
