Job summary

Alliance is hiring a Data Scientist to join our in-house engineering team in NYC, onsite only. You’ll own features from requirements through production, reporting to the CTO and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.

We value senior, self-directed data scientists who can build production-grade Python systems, craft robust predictive models, and ship end-to-end data products without heavy PM or large engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Senior, self-directed data scientist who can take a loosely defined business problem from first query through a production-quality answer.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; comfortable with notebooks, application code, APIs, and Metabase.
• Strong applied modeling judgment: feature design, evaluation, data leakage, calibration, interpretability, and when to use simple approaches.
• Enough data engineering depth to ship your own work: build pipelines, debug source data, and maintain production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own data science and analytics end-to-end, turning questions into analysis, models, tools, and production systems.
• Build production Python systems for data collection, enrichment, scoring, and AI-assisted research.
• Develop and improve predictive models, design features, run experiments, and move work to reliable production releases.
• Write SQL and own reporting, dashboards, and recurring or one-off investigations.
