Job summary

Amgen seeks a Sr. Data Scientist to advance biologics drug-substance modeling and digitize tech-transfer workflows within a global network of manufacturing sites.

You will lead modeling efforts, build data pipelines, and create visualizations to enable early insights and decisive decisions in drug substance development and tech transfer. Collaboration across disciplines and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (data science/engineering).
• MS/MA with experience may qualify; see listed prerequisites.
• Strong background in biotechnology or process modeling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leverage tech-transfer and process-modeling domain knowledge to drive digital technologies.
• Digital Product Ownership of tech-transfer digital applications, focused initially on expansion of digital process-modeling for the DS network.
• Change management to integrate tech transfer digital applications into product teams.
• Development of data products to enable FAIR data for tech transfer/NPI.
• Enable AI-driven workflows for DST modeling assets.
• Collaborate with digital product teams to build and integrate modeling assets into business processes for DST.
• Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams; identify opportunities for process design improvements for Amgen products.
• Make business recommendations (cost-benefit, forecasting, scenario analysis) with effective presentation of findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to establishing a robust data science strategy by providing recommendations related to process monitoring, data engineering, analytic platforms, analysis plans, and other relevant areas of data science.
