Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Senior Data Scientist to transform terabytes of manufacturing data into clear, visual narratives for factory leadership. You’ll own the end-to-end insight lifecycle—from SQL queries to polished dashboards or web tools used to drive major decisions.

You will lead cross-functional projects, mentor junior engineers, and elevate code quality to strengthen the team’s technical capability while delivering actionable insights at scale.

Qualifications

• Master SQL to extract and aggregate data from multi-database environments.
• Proficiency in Python with NumPy, SciPy and Pandas for analytics.
• Experience building predictive models with TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Mine large manufacturing datasets to identify trends and anomalies in real-time.
• Design intuitive data products and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Tune SQL queries and Python scripts for performance in time-sensitive environments.
• Lead tool evolution and uphold professional engineering standards across the team.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who is as passionate about data storytelling as they are about data mining. Your mission is to take terabytes of raw manufacturing data and turn it into a clear, visual narrative. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of an insight: from the initial SQL query to the final, polished dashboard or webpage that the factory leadership uses to make million-dollar decisions.

As a Senior member of the team, you will serve as a technical lead and a bridge between teams. Beyond your individual contributions, you will drive the successful execution of cross-functional projects, aligning stakeholders across the factory to achieve shared goals. You will also play a pivotal role in the growth of our technical talent, mentoring junior engineers in software best practices and code quality to elevate the overall capability of the team.

• SemiconductorYieldAnalytics:Specializedknowledgeofsemiconductordefectdomains(detection,classification,andyieldimpact)pairedwiththeabilitytovisualizefindingsinTableauorSpotfire.
• FrontendInterest:Experiencewithweb-baseddatadeliverytools(Vue/FastAPI)andapassionforclearUI/UXdesign.

Total Rewards

The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
