Description

Are you excited to help the US Intelligence Community design, build, and implement AI algorithms, including advanced Generative AI solutions, to augment decision making while meeting the highest standards for reliability, transparency, and scalability? The AWS US Federal Professional Services team works directly with US Intelligence Community agencies and other public sector entities to achieve their mission goals through Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI methods. We build models for text, image, video, audio, and multi-modal use cases, leveraging traditional ML approaches and state-of-the-art generative models including Large Language Models (LLMs), text-to-image generation, and other advanced AI capabilities. Our team collaborates across AWS to deliver tailored solutions and drive innovation based on customer needs.

We seek experienced data scientists with expertise in both traditional and generative AI to help customers understand their data opportunities and build trustworthy, scalable solutions. You will work closely with clients to understand their data challenges, design solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders. You should have experience building models from various data sources and deploying data-intensive applications at scale. Strong business acumen and communication skills are essential for effective stakeholder collaboration and translating requirements into actionable solutions. You will also guide and support other engineers, sharing best practices and fostering innovation.

This role requires an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph, with the possibility to obtain additional clearances for specific government projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to research, design, and evaluate AI algorithms for real-world challenges.
  • Engage with customers to understand their business problems, assist in implementing AI solutions, and deliver briefings and deep dives.
  • Create best practice guides, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams to influence product development.
  • Travel up to 25% locally as needed.

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building models for business applications.
  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, data mining, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
  • Active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred:

  • Masters or PhD in a quantitative field.
  • Practical experience in solving complex applied problems.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX.
  • Experience with Generative AI applications.
