Job summary

sentinellabs is seeking an experienced ML Engineer to design production ML-based malware detection engines that operate in real time across multiple environments.

You will research AI approaches and integrate the most promising advances into the product, while building analytics to continually improve models.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years designing, training, and evaluating ML models in production.
• Experience building and curating large training datasets for ML.
• Active daily use of AI tools in your workflow.
• Strong communication across product, support, and engineering functions.

Role overview

Join a Static AI team that builds production machine learning models protecting millions of endpoints and processing billions of events per day. The work spans research, engineering, and shipping ML-driven malware detection engines that make sub-second decisions across Windows, macOS, Linux, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver ML-based detection engines that identify and stop malware in real time
• Research emerging AI and ML approaches and integrate the most promising advances into the product
• Build analytics systems that learn from diverse internal and external data sources to improve existing models and create new ones
• Take ownership of projects from initial research through production deployment

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience building and curating large datasets for training ML models, with solid grounding in classical ML and statistics
• Active daily use of AI tools in your workflow
• Three or more years designing, training, and evaluating ML models in production systems
• Ability to independently drive projects end-to-end and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Strong communication skills for working across product, support, and engineering functions
• Comfort operating in a globally distributed team with an all-hands-on-deck mindset

Nice to have

• Cyber domain experience, especially with detection systems or static file analysis
• Cloud infrastructure or MLOps experience
• Hands-on work with Spark, PySpark, or Databricks
