Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to shape analysis and drive measurable impact across products, operations, and customer outcomes. You will partner with product, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights and scalable data science solutions.

Responsibilities include building KPIs, governance, and robust measurement approaches, while mentoring teammates in analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience applying advanced analytics, experimentation, statistical methods, and data storytelling to business or product problems.
• Experience structuring complex business issues and partnering cross-functionally to turn them into scalable analytical or data science solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical programming language such as Python or R, and experience with large-scale structured and semi-structured data.
• Effective communication of insights, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to frame opportunities, define success measures, and shape problem statements.
• Lead high-impact analysis to uncover trends, diagnose root causes, and generate actionable insights.
• Design and maintain measurement approaches, KPI frameworks, and governance practices.
• Translate large datasets into clear narratives, recommendations, and tradeoffs.
• Build scalable analytical assets or data science solutions for reuse across the team.
• Mentor team members in analytical thinking and data-informed decision making.
