Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Associate, Data Scientist for the Credit Line Increase Program in McLean, VA. You will partner with cross-functional teams to build valuations models, deploy them, and govern them within a data-rich environment.

You’ll work with Python, AWS, Spark, H2O, and more to transform large datasets into actionable business insights, communicating results to stakeholders and aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years analytics experience.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration.
• Experience with AWS.
• At least 2 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R.
• At least 2 years’ experience with machine learning.
• At least 2 years’ experience with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
• Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, Spark to reveal insights from large data volumes.
• Build machine learning models through all development phases from design to deployment.
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals.
