Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr Assoc, Data Science in McLean, VA to join the Consumer Credit Risk Management Models and Data Team. You will partner with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver data-driven solutions that inform loss allowances, stress testing, and capital allocation.

You will work with Python, AWS, Spark and open-source tools to build, validate, and deploy ML models, translate complex analyses into business actions, and communicate insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years of analytics experience or Master’s in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration
• Master’s degree or MBA with quantitative concentration is preferred
• PhD in STEM is a plus and demonstrates advanced quantitative training

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver data-driven products
• Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, Spark and more to extract insights from large data volumes
• Build, validate, and deploy machine learning models across design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
• Translate complex analyses into tangible business goals for stakeholders
