Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Associate, Data Scientist - Credit Line Increase Program in McLean, VA to lead valuations models and governance for Discover Customer Management programs.

You will develop models end-to-end, collaborate with software engineers and product managers, and apply a broad tech stack including Python, AWS, Spark, and H2O to unlock insights from vast datasets and drive business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years of analytics experience or Master's/MBA with quantitative concentration.
• Master’s degree in STEM or PhD in STEM is preferred.
• Experience with AWS and at least 2 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R; at least 2 years’ experience with machine learning; at least 2 years’ experience with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
• Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more to reveal insights from large datasets.
• Build machine learning models through all development phases: design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals.
