Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Inc. is seeking an Expert II, Data Science – Cell and Gene Therapy in San Diego.

You will combine computational biology, bioinformatics, and data science to extract insights from next-generation sequencing and multi-omics data, guiding research toward novel therapies. You will develop robust analytical approaches, build scalable pipelines, and present findings to scientists and cross-functional teams, enabling data-informed decisions for patient

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics/related field or demonstrated industry experience with high-throughput biological data analyses.
• Proficiency in Python or R and strong statistical analysis skills.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms or HPC environments.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-omics datasets to generate insights for cell and gene therapy R&D.
• Develop and maintain reproducible bioinformatics pipelines for sequencing workflows.
• Evaluate genome integrity and therapeutic performance of candidates.
• Apply statistical methods to deliver robust data analyses.
• Create clear visualizations and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with laboratory teams to design experiments and analysis strategies.
