Job summary

Power Factors in Boston is seeking a Senior Data Scientist – BESS to design and deliver rigorous analytics across a 300+ GW battery energy storage fleet. You will work hands-on in Python to build production-grade models for SoH, degradation forecasting, and dispatch optimization.

Collaborating with software and product teams, you will translate real world challenges into scalable analytics integrated into our REMS platform, informing customers and driving value at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the energy industry with a focus on utility-scale BESS.
• Deep understanding of BESS operation, SOC/SOH estimation, degradation mechanisms, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with large-scale operational BESS datasets (BMS telemetry, SCADA, event logs, high-frequency time series).
• Proven experience delivering analytics used by asset owners/operators to support decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize high-impact analytics opportunities for BESS performance and revenue optimization.
• Lead the development of advanced data science solutions from concept through production deployment.
• Leverage Power Factors' large-scale BESS data to build scalable, robust models across global fleets.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to ensure analytical solutions are interpretable and actionable.
