American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Data Scientist/Sr Data Scientist to apply machine learning and statistics to Technical Operations. You will collaborate across the business to translate challenges, build forecasting systems, and develop data products in Azure, contributing to maintenance, scheduling, and operational performance.

The role requires advanced degrees or equivalent experience, strong ML skills, and experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Master’s/PhD or Bachelor’s with 2+ years of quantitative experience.
• Experience with Python, R, SQL, and ML libraries.
• Data extraction, cleaning and analysis experience.
• Solid knowledge of statistical and ML techniques.
• Able to complete technical interviews and take-home tests in statistics and ML.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to translate needs into ML or statistical problems.
• Build predictive forecasting systems for future performance.
• Support data products via EDA, feature engineering, and modeling.
• Create datasets and identify key features for modeling.
• Communicate results clearly to leaders at airports and Tech Ops.
