NerdWallet, Inc is seeking a Senior Data Scientist (Applied ML) to shape and advance its machine learning capabilities across personalization, predictive modeling, and performance marketing. This hands-on role leads production-grade ML solutions and collaborates with Data Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Analytics from day one.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Data Science, deep Databricks experience with MLflow, and strong Python/SQL skills, plus a clear track record of business impact

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Applied Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Hands-on Databricks experience with MLflow and the Databricks ML ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with modern ML frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Strong understanding of supervised learning, predictive modeling, classification, regression, ranking, and evaluation.
• Experience designing scalable batch and/or real-time inference systems with latency considerations.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals (version control, testing, modular code, CI/CD for ML).
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives from problem definition to deployment and measurement.
• Ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes like revenue and marketing efficiency.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead end-to-end development of predictive ML models (LTV, propensity, lead quality, revenue optimization).
• Translate model outputs into actionable signals to improve marketing and customer acquisition.
• Develop recommendation/ranking models for personalized product suggestions.
• Collaborate with Product/Marketing to integrate predictive signals into experiences.
• Establish standards for ML practices using Databricks, MLflow, monitoring, and reproducibility.
• Mentor practitioners and raise engineering/modeling standards across the org.
