Job summary

Leidos is seeking a mission-driven Sr. Data Scientist to support intelligence work at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, VA.

You will design, train, and deploy machine learning models and AI algorithms, while mentoring analysts on interpreting outputs and transitioning to AI-assisted workflows. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of relevant experience or 15+ with a Bachelor's, strong Python/R skills, and expertise in data mining, statistics, and software engineering.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or bachelor's with 15+ years.
• Experience in two or more of: ML design, data mining, AI, software engineering.
• Experience extracting and analyzing data from COTS products.
• Proficient in Python and R; familiarity with ML toolkits.
• Strong problem solving and communication of complex ideas.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, train, and deploy ML models and AI algorithms for intelligence challenges.
• Provide embedded mentoring and hands-on training on AI/ML frameworks.
• Support data modeling, data coalescence, and data element aggregation.
• Use statistics and data visualization to manage large data and build models.
