Job summary

Amazon Science seeks a data scientist to advance Seller Intelligence by designing scalable segmentation and propensity models, deploying scores, and optimizing contact strategies across marketplaces.

The role focuses on end-to-end ML from feature engineering to monitoring, with opportunities to explore NLP/LLM applications and causal inference techniques within a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Python) experience.
• Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, economics, or computer science.
• Proven end-to-end ML model delivery: problem formulation to deployment and monitoring.
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments at scale with rigorous statistical methods.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into well-scoped science deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with or evaluating AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver seller segmentation and propensity models at scale, incorporating engagement signals and lifecycle stages.
• Build contact quality scoring and lifecycle management systems (coverage optimization, reactivation modelling).
• Define success metrics, experimentation frameworks, and measurement methodology for seller engagement interventions.
• Productionize ML models and data products; partner with engineering to deploy scores and signals.
• Explore GenAI applications: automated insight generation from seller data and intelligent report synthesis.
• Present findings to bi-weekly NBS theme reviews and leadership.
• Collaborate with BIE to democratize outputs via dashboards and self-serve tools.
• Contribute to cross-marketplace seller behavior analysis supporting expansion strategies.
