Job summary

Amazon Science's Worldwide Global Selling Analytics, Intelligence, and Technology (WWGS-AIT) team seeks a Data Scientist to design and build seller-facing AI agents that turn our AI-ready data foundation into intelligent, conversational experiences for Amazon's global sellers.

You will own the intelligence layer end-to-end, from modeling and retrieval to evaluation and launch, collaborating with applied scientists, data engineers, and the Seller Assistant platform team to deploy trustworthy AI

Qualifications

2+ years of data scientist experience.
3+ years of data querying languages (SQL) or scripting languages (Python) experience.
3+ years of ML/statistical modeling and data analysis tools experience.
1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers.
1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems.
1+ years of creating educational content or papers.
Master's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
PhD in STEM preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and iterate seller-facing AI agents (LLM-powered).
Develop the intelligence layer: retrieval-augmented generation, tool-use, and model fine-tuning.
Ground agent responses with standardized metrics and guardrails.
Build evaluation frameworks to measure agent quality and safety.
Develop seller-intelligence models for personalized experiences.
Collaborate with WWGS Tech and Seller Assistant to productionize agents.
Translate seller pain points into actionable capabilities and outcomes.
Stay current with GenAI advances and apply research to production.
