Job summary

BioMarin is seeking a senior Data Scientist for the Technical Operations (TOPS) group in Novato, CA, to deliver high‑value Data/AI solutions across Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. You will own the Integrated Technical Data Strategy, apply advanced analytics and AI, and transform fragmented data into actionable insights to speed decision making.

The role requires a Master’s in a related field and 7+ years of hands-on experience, with strong SQL/Python, BI tools, and GenAI capabilities,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; 7+ years delivering Data/AI solutions in industry.
• Strong SQL and Python for data wrangling, modeling, and automation.
• Experience with dashboards and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/Spotfire).
• Proven end-to-end data projects from problem definition to results presentation.
• Knowledge of GenAI pipelines and AI model deployment in regulated biotech.

Responsibilities

• Identify AI opportunities across Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Maintain and prioritize TOPS Data Science portfolio and project docs.
• Lead end-to-end projects with stakeholders, writing business cases and design docs.
• Develop data strategies, roadmaps, and success metrics for robust processes.
• Collaborate with IT/Engineering to ensure scalable, secure AI services.
