Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist to drive AI adoption across Store Operations, lead data science initiatives, and scale analytics products that improve profitability and customer experience.

You will work with project teams, mentor junior data scientists, and communicate insights to leaders and partners. This role helps build the analytics infrastructure and data products that empower decision making across the business.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.)
• 6+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics
• Experience in developing/deploying agentic solutions (preferably Google ADK)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Proficient in a modern scripting language (Python)
• Proficient running queries against data (SQL / BigQuery)
• Proficient with data visualization software (Tableau)
• Mastery utilizing statistical techniques to identify trends and insights

Responsibilities

• 35% Solution Development - design and develop algorithms and models to extract business insights from large datasets; communicate insights to leaders and partners; prepare reports and presentations.
• 30% Project Management & Team Support - guide project goals, prioritize work, mentor junior roles, allocate resources, support hiring.
• 20% Business Collaboration - translate business needs into analytics solutions; build trust with internal customers; educate partners on advanced analytics.
• 15% Technical Exploration & Development - pursue new data science methods; codify data products and docs; build reusable algorithm libraries
