Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to guide data science initiatives that drive profitability, efficiency, and customer experience. You will help develop an advanced analytics infrastructure and mentor data scientists while owning a library of reusable algorithms.

You will lead large projects, collaborate with business and IT partners, recruit talent, and contribute to data science communities across business units, leveraging models in optimization, computer vision, and NLP.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced analytics modeling, statistics or BI, preferably in retail.
• 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, advanced analytics, and/or AI/ML fields.

Responsibilities

• 30% Solution Development – design and develop algorithms and models for large datasets; communicate insights to technical and non-technical leaders.
• 25% Project Management & Team Support – lead large projects, mentor junior staff, allocate resources, recruit and hire.
• 20% Business Collaboration – leverage business knowledge, build trust with internal customers, educate the data science community.
• 25% Technical Exploration & Development – pursue new developments, codify data products, produce reproducible solutions, define best practices.
