Job summary

Reddit is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Scientist to join the Ads Data Science team. You will develop and apply cutting-edge DS models to improve adoption and performance of our advertising platform.

You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to identify opportunities, define metrics, and build data-driven solutions that deliver significant impact for the company.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics or OR
• For MS holders: 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science
• For PhD holders: 4+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science
• Platform experience and a deep understanding of the ads ecosystem
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, ML algorithms, causal inference and experimental design
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Hive; BigQuery a plus
• Proficiency in Python or R and ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Passion for online advertising industry

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and apply DS solutions to inform improvements in advertiser experience and the ad platform
• Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trends and insights for effectiveness of the advertising platform
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product requirements and translate them into DS solutions
• Develop ML models and DS methods for anomaly detection, prediction, and pattern recognition
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization
• Stay up-to-date on latest ML and DS advancements
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists on the team
